So a couple of days ago a Air France plane went off the runway and caught on fire during landing at Pearson Airport in Toronto. There were only a couple minor injuries which is good but no one is saying anything for sure about how it happened. At first they thought that it was hight by lightening. Now they're saying it was some sort of human error.

Terrible thing that happened. I have a little more to add to this from the news last night.
It was possible that the brakes on the plane were innefective due to the rubber surface of the tires being wet.
An interesting (and less sad) sidenote is that fire officials were on the scene in 53 seconds, due to the fact that they crashed through a series of gates to reach the runway faster.

Sorry to double post, but I heard that if witness reports are true, it happened like this:
When the plane was descending, the captain mentioned (black box) that they were going to fast. Instead of landing in the safe zone, they landed much further ahead, therefore not giving them enough time to stop.

Wow I've heard that some people were left near the plane after the evacuation but like my mom said with that many people running in all directions it's really hard to get everyone.
