I was reading a translated version of Lost Memories the other day and I came across the name information. It was talking about how they originally wanted to name Harry and Cheryl after chracters from Lolita.
What is the significance of this?
And the songs of SH3, like You're Not Here and I want love, is there any reason that they're played once around Douglas and one to describe how much Heather misses her father? Am I reading too much into it or did Team Silent want to make Heather a kind of Lolita?

You're not the only one.

Major spoilers for both Silent Hill 3 and Lolita
1. Humbert takes Dolores's virginity when she's 14, the age Alessa is in the game. I've heard people say that Harry would never do anything to Cheryl, but with Alessa he might. Also one the entries in her diary subtly hints at something "A special man is coming...I hope this necklace will look good."
2. At age 17 after having left Humbert for 2 - 3 years Dolores calls him for money. When he finds her she is pregnant by her husband. 17 was the age that Heather/Cheryl was when she was pregnant with the God.
3. At the end of Lolita, Dolores gives birth to a still born baby. This is almost the same as what happened with Heather, except she puked up a foetus.
Personally the idea of Heather/Harry has always intrigued me; especially if it was the Alessa part of Heather showing through.

Now that I have read through most of it, I think it was more likely they were basing the various Lolita related things from the movies. Reading the book, I think Humbert Humbert's poetic style is a lot like Stanley's. And the director of the first Lolita movie had a first name of Stanley...

legal age is 14 in a lot of places, I believe...
i'm not terribly surprised if there is a connection there, there is a lot of sexual imagery in the games and they do prominently feature underage (from the point of view that it takes place in america) girls. an interesting point i read somewhere was perhaps a lot had to do with harry's inability to watch his little girl become a woman, maybe that was one reason leading to the events in SH1. Cheryl (the first one we meet anyway) never does grow up. Heather does grow up, and bad things happen. I'm sure it all ties into common Japanese horror themes revolving around young girls also, in one way or the other.

There's also the fact that in SH1 Cheryl pretty much goes from being 7 to 14 in the span of a minute. Alessa and Cheryl merged at the car crash by the way.
Anyways the girl that Harry keeps seeing the one we know as Alessa, is really Cheryl "restored to her former self."
Harry can't handle this, and he hates this girl for taking his daughter away. Supporting what you said above, then metaphorically Harry can't seem to handle the idea of his daughter growing up quickly.
Although his daughter does go from 7 to 14 pretty damn quick.
If anything too, the sexual undertones seem to be coming from Alessa herself, and not Harry.

Actually Harry saw Alessa as an evil demon, all thanks to Dahlia.

not overtones, but undertones, and they're mostly found in Alessa's diary. The important parts are bolded.
Alessa Diaries
April 15, 1986
Starting from today, this will be my new diary. Lisa secretly gave it to me as a present. She says that the bandages on my body will be taken off soon. Outside the window, a small bird was sitting on a branch of the tree, so I gazed at it for a while. Look at the pretty colors, and so I say, suddenly realizing that it's already spring. I, too, want to play outside like the other kids... In the afternoon, again, they came by. I pretend to be asleep and hope they hadn't noticed. Outside the room, in a small voice that seemed so quiet, things were being talked about that I didn't understand the meanings of. I don't think there is anything to talk about here.
April 16, 1986
Someone is talking outside my room. Serious, it seems. I don't think it's about me however. Maybe it's because he's concerned for my physical well-being, but recently, the director is not trying to talk to me much anymore. Truthfully, because he's not a doctor that I liked much, my mind feels at ease. I found out that, by some bizarre event, a guest will be visiting me.
April 17, 1986
This morning, since sunrise, it's been busy. Not sure, but something about a certainly dead person having been resurrected? Did something like that happen? Scary stories... Because of that, my breakfast arrived a little late... Disappointed at the soup gone cold. Suddenly, I remembered him. He might have forgotten me, but I remember well. Recently, anytime something happens, I remember. I would like to meet him. Anyway, the guest's arrival will probably be the day after tomorrow, in the middle of the night. Before then... One more time, before then...
April 18, 1986
Finally, tomorrow has come. I can't tell this to anyone. If I tell, I will probably be tied up to my bed. Before they arrive... A friend whom I can share my feelings with. The only one, who... Will he understand? Let's sleep early today.
April 19, 1986
I have no choice but to get out of this place. A valuable pendant, which I especially like, I wear around my neck. Does it look good on me? Results in tomorrow's entry.

One thing that now befuddles me, is that Alessa writes that she's known this visitor (Harry Mason) for awhile and she hopes he remembers her.
